We store your learning activity in our database, including:

• XP, level, and streak information

• Daily mission and goal completion status

• Last login date

• League tier and badge/achievement data

• Word learning status (learned, learning, locked) and spaced repetition schedule

• Favorite words

• Story completion progress and star ratings

1.3 Device and Usage Information

• Network connectivity status (used only locally to detect offline mode)

• Notification scheduling data (stored locally on your device)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Create and manage your account

• Save and sync your learning progress across sessions

• Personalize your learning experience (spaced repetition, recommended content)

• Display leaderboard and league rankings

• Send local reminder notifications (only if you enable them)

• Provide customer support

• Improve app functionality and fix issues

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Lumika:

3.1 Supabase

3.2 Google Sign-In

3.3 Apple Sign-In

3.4 Pexels

3.5 Device-Level Services (No Data Leaves Your Device)

The following features operate entirely on your device and do not transmit data to us or any third party:

• Text-to-Speech: Word pronunciation and listening exercises use your device's built-in speech engine (Apple's AVSpeechSynthesizer on iOS, Google TTS on Android)

• Notifications: Daily reminders and streak alerts are scheduled locally on your device; no push notification server is used, and no device token is transmitted externally

• Audio Playback: Story narration and onboarding videos are bundled with the app and played locally

• Network Status Detection: Used only to determine offline mode within the app

3.6 In-App Review

Purpose: Allows you to rate the app without leaving it Data shared: Handled entirely by Apple's or Google's native review systems; no data is returned to or stored by Lumika

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share data with the service providers listed in Section 3, solely for the purpose of operating the app's core functionality.

We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our users.

5. Data Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which implements industry-standard security practices, including encrypted data transmission and Row Level Security (RLS) policies that ensure only you can access your own data.

6. Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, your personal data and learning progress are permanently removed from our database.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you

• Request correction of inaccurate data

• Request deletion of your account and associated data

• Object to the processing of your data

• Withdraw consent for optional features (such as notifications) at any time

8. Children's Privacy

Lumika does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence, depending on the infrastructure used by our service providers (Supabase, Google, Apple, Pexels). These providers maintain appropriate safeguards in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page, and we may notify you within the app.
